What Interfaith Immersion Looks Like

Have you ever heard of interfaith immersion? It’s basically like language immersion. Imagine that you’re trying to learn Spanish, for example, and you immerse yourself in the language by living for a while in a Spanish-speaking country. The goal is acquisition of the language–the ability to communicate in the target language. Likewise, Interfaith immersion is an intense, experiential learning time with people of other faith traditions than your own–experiencing how they pray, gather, learn, and serve. The goal is to develop interfaith competency and to expand your “spiritual” language.
