In May of 2019, Montgomery County’s first LGBT+ library opened at Love In Action United Church of Christ in Hatboro, PA. SAGA [Sexuality And Gender Acceptance], was a program of Love In Action UCC at that time. Church members obtained donations of books and other items to make the dream a reality.
In 2019, the vision and plan for a new 501[c][3] began with SAGA’s LGBT+ community group and programs, immigrant justice, and interfaith programs. At the end of 2019, The Welcome Project PA was formally established.
Today WPPA’s Library is a community space for LGBT+ individuals and Allies of all ages to access books and other publications in-person at our Hatboro, PA location. Books may be searched for online. Stay tuned to hear about upcoming WPPA library events and volunteer opportunities.
