Mental Health Services

Our Therapy Program

We are currently accepting new clients for virtual and in-person sessions!

We offer low-fee ($45-$65) therapeutic services for children, adults, and families which are trauma-informed, fat positive, queer-affirming, poly-affirming,
and operate from a social justice framework.

Our Therapy Fund

Our mission is to make affirming therapy affordable for everyone who needs it.

Our current rates are $45 for sessions with our Intern Therapists, and $65 with our Pre-licensed Professional Therapists. About 60% of that amount goes directly to the therapist as a modest living wage. The next 20% or so covers the building costs and utilities for our therapy space. The remaining 20% is split between administrative costs, website fees, software, taxes, office supplies, education and training, clinical supervision, professional fees, and credit card processing charges.

While the fees we charge are just enough to keep us running,
they are often far beyond what our clients can afford.

This is where you come in.

You can give the gift of mental wellness.

Each $45 or $65 we raise is one more hour of pro bono therapy for an LGBTQIA+ person living below the poverty line. Each $10 or $20 we raise can help us provide a subsidized session for someone who can contribute something toward a session, but not the full rate.

Each hour of therapy provided by you is one step closer to wellness, stability, and self-actualization for a vulnerable community member. When you support our work with a donation, you’re making an immediate difference in the lives of our clients. Every hour of therapy can help to turn someone’s life around.

All donations to The Welcome Project PA Therapy Program are tax-deductible, and go directly to our client’s mental health care costs, helping them get the help they urgently need.
Please consider donating to our Therapy Fund to help us continue offering low-cost
services for marginalized communities!

Alexis Stolberg

Intern Therapist

(she/her/hers)

Hi, I’m Lexi. I’m a graduate of Temple University and a current student in the College of New Jersey’s M.A. Clinical Mental Health and Student Assistance programs. I’m interning with the Welcome Project PA under the supervision of Amber Lynn Connell and am so excited to be here.

I aim to provide counseling that recognizes and welcomes all persons and the various identities they assume. I believe in the power of the counselor-client relationship to heal and use a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and tools to assist clients in reaching their goals.

When I’m not at the office or in class, you will often find me at home, reading a fantasy book, cuddling my cats, or planning my next Disney trip with my fiancé, Liam.

Kyrsten Kennedy

Intern Therapist

(she/her/hers)

Hi, my name is Kyrsten (she/her/hers) and I am an intern here at SAGA as I finish my Masters program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I graduated from Montgomery County Community College in 2016 with my Associate’s degree in liberal studies, Temple University with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020 and fingers crossed I will be completing my Masters degree in 2024. Prior to joining SAGA, I was a volunteer advocate for survivors of sexual violence. LGBT+ mental health and support has been something close to my heart for many years. Something I have always been and always will be outspoken about is the issues the community continues to face, especially our younger community members. I want to provide a safe and open space for LGBT+ adolescents where they can be their most authentic selves and get the support we all deserve. In my downtime I enjoy reading, writing, and going to the local thrift stores. I look forward to working with you!
